Bye-Bye Debt!

Ok, so maybe I live under a rock....or maybe I just live in Canada.
:)
But just recently I started hearing things about some wonderful, full of wisdom, financial guy. This financial guy who has been helping families, with his teachings, become debt free.

Debt free, people. As in absolutely NO debt. No credit card payments. No car payments. No student loans. No mortgage.
Freedom from ALL debt!

So, today when I read Simply Frugal's post I decided to check it out.
Then I got excited.
Very excited.

His teachings are simple. Straight from the bible. Practical, godly, wisdom-filled teaching.
(Oh, and the guy is ridiculously funny!)

Have you guessed who it is yet?
That's right.
It's Dave Ramsey.

If you haven't heard his teachings yet, just click here to watch the three part teaching series he did at LifeChuch.tv. Amazing. Potentially life-changing- that is if you actually put his teachings into practice :)

After watching this series I am both excited and inspired to start living this area of our lives in the way that God intended. In FREEDOM! No longer will we be slaves.
Can you imagine never making a mortgage payment again? Can you imagine paying cash for something like a car? Can you imagine being able to give crazy amounts of money away as God leads you?
Yes, yes, yes!

The testimony at the end of the third video both gave me goosebumps and brought me to tears. We serve a God who completely amazes me. There are just no words to fully describe the awesomeness (is that even a word?) of our God....

  1. We LOVE Dave Ramsey. We're working on getting rid of all of our debt - including our mortgage - and read his book "Total Money Makeover". AWESOME book!!!!

SO cool that you watched the lifechurch town hall. We want to watch it, too. Just haven't had a chance yet!

  3. Remember this post of mine? http://muddybootsblog.blogspot.com/2009/04/debt-accountability.html . Dave Ramsay is the inspiration behind our plan to get out of debt. We've paid off $7000 in the first 4 months this year, and hope to have the remaining $6000 paid off by summer. I haven't actually read "Total Money Make-Over" but understand the principles.

Your comment on that post lead me to Simply Frugal... thanks!

Also, did you know he has a pod cast too?

  5. I came here from REE's blog. I love what I have seen on your blog so far. I just watched the videos of Dave Ramsey. Thanks so much for the link. I have seen him on TV, but never paid attention to him, but loved the videos. We just had to sell our house and will start from the beginning. Wthout a house (living in rent), but without debt.I'm so thankfull that we didn't loose everything. We have the chance to make it right this time. For our kids and with the help of God, I know we are gonna make it.
    Happy Mothers Day!!
