I tried this recipe, after having the most amazing steak at a friend's house, a few years ago and it has been our family favorite ever since.
Some of the ingredients are a little strange but, please, don't be afraid of them. I promise it will make the most splendid sauce. I can hardly wait to share it with you!
Ok, here we go.
Let's start with the ingredients.
BBQ sauce, dry garlic sparerib sauce, oyster sauce -yes, I was hesitant at first with this one too, but trust me it add a little "je ne sais quoi"!
7-up, hoisin sauce (found in the oriental aisle in our grocery store) and worcestershire sauce. I also add a little olive oil, but forgot to add it to the picture.
Mix 'em all together in a small bowl.
Pour over the meat (I'm making kabobs tomorrow, but this marinate works great on any cut of meat, it's also very good on chicken), cover and store in the refrigerator until you are ready to grill.
Marvelous Marinade
(yup, I named it myself)
1 cup BBQ sauce
1 cup Dry Garlic Sparerib Sauce
1/2 cup Hoisin sauce
1/4 cup Oyster Sauce
1/2- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 can or so 7-up
1-2 tsp olive oil
Mix all together in a small bowl, pour over meat. Cover. Refrigerate until ready to grill. (24 hours is best)
Enjoy.
Invite many people over to help you devour this meal!
Soooooo good!
P.S Recipe can be halved if you are not planning on feeding an army!
