Homemade Gifts

Now that we seem to be in the swing of things with school, I've found myself getting into a nice little routine with the girls.
We've had fun shopping, playing girly games and I've even had a nice break each afternoon as both girls nap. Ahhhhh.....
:)
Already this week we've taken a few different trips to the fabric store in the attempt to get started on a list of projects I'd like to have done in time for the holidays.

Holidays?!

That's right, see Christmas is only a few months away and this year I've determined to made a few homemade gifts for the kiddos. This will be my first attempt at anything homemade, so all of the projects I picked seem super easy and are right up my "beginner sewer" alley.

I was going to just post them as I made 'em, but knowing myself I probably won't have any of them ready until well into December (I might even be making these late into the night on the 23rd....) and I thought maybe some of you would like to make them too, so I've decided to share the links to my "homemade Christmas wish list":

No-sew Fleece blankets (one for each of the kids)
Superhero cape (for our big boy)
No-Sew Tu Tu (for each of the girls)
Doll Diaper sets (for each of the girls)
Felt Mail Set
Family Yahtzee Game

How about you?
Are you making anything this year?

  1. Hi! I found you though Short Stop. Just wanted to mention that I LOVED "Redeeming Love" by Francine Rivers. After reading it, I also spent time studying the book of Hosea. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Take care!

  2. Those are such awesome gift ideas! My mom actually made a fleece blanket just like that one for Cohen a few years ago! Love it!

  3. i too am already thinking about christmas. yep, i have a few gifts planned.
an abc book for my new nephews, using pictures of them and family members (they are being adopted through the foster care system, and i think this will help them feel more ownership in family).
and i am putting together a cook book for other family members. thinking of adding a homemade tea towel to that gift.

your little ones would like finger puppets. get a garden glove, make velcro animals and such to add to fingers, and songs to accompany (old mac donald had a farm, 5 little monkeys....)
