The Plan

I hate exercise. I really, really do.
It's just one of those things that gets put on the very bottom of my priority list. And somehow doesn't ever get done. Go figure. (teehee)

I know I need to do it, if only to feel better.
I have been majorly lacking in the energy department lately and want to adopt a more balanced lifestyle. That sound so earthy. I'm not sure if I can pull off earthy, but whatever.
I can attempt to be balanced. I can attempt to be earthy.
:)

Anyways a couple of weeks ago Chris started a new workout routine.
And he has been faithfully following it. He gets a gold star in my books!
We took his measurements a week in and just one week later he's already lost at least 1/2 an inch in all his measurements. (Way to go honey!)
As I was measuring him (and discovering how well he was doing) my competitive side rose to the surface. I can't let him have all the fun. No way!

So, naturally, I declared right then and there that I was going to start my own little workout routine and had him take my measurements too:

Abdomen, Calf, Thigh, Hips, Arm, Chest, and Neck

Now I have a starting place.
(And no I'm not brave enough to post what they actually are!)

Why am I sharing all this with you??
Well, for a couple different reasons.

1. It's an attempt to keep myself from giving up before I even get started. See, by writing it here, in my crazy mind it makes it real. I will have to force myself to get started.
I WILL HAVE TO DO IT!!
I just won't be able to sleep at night knowing I wrote about my plan and then didn't follow through.

2. I wanted to give an opportunity to anyone else wanting to shed a few extra pounds to join me.
I asked Chris what it was that was helping him stick to his routine.
His answer: 1. The fact that he is doing it with his buddies (translation: it's FUN)
AND 2. The fact that the gym is in their office building (translation: it's convenient)

Makes sense right?

Now, I could go out and get a gym membership with one of my friends, but I know myself- I won't use it. I need to have a workout routine at home. I need something that whenever I get the urge I don't have to get in the van and drive...especially with the winter months fast approaching. I can do it while the girls nap, or early in the morning, or after bedtime.... and as an added bonus I don't have to worry about baby-sitting, or planning my entire day around my workout. (it's convenient)
Now, what about the fun aspect? Well, that's where you come in. I wanted to open it up to see if anyone wanted to join me and be my "online" workout buddy.
It could be TONS OF FUN... just picture it: cheering each other on, complaining about how sore we are....and the best part: watching the weight just pour off :)

Now, I realize I'm not giving any time here... I plan on starting tomorrow, but hey last minute is how this mama rolls. If anyone wants to join me just post a comment, or send me an email and we'll figure out a fun way to keep one another encouraged.
:)

  1. this summer i did the jillian michael's 30 day shred. it is a 20 min a day workout.
in the first 2 weeks i lost 4.25 inches and 2lbs. i pretty much stayed there. but had a lot more energy. oh and after just 9 days i had definition and muscles on my arms!
i got about 6 other friends to shred as well. one of my friends lost 6 inches!
i'm all about the inches, not the lbs. i like to actually see those lbs melt away!

    now go workout!
