In the city that never sleeps...

...we DID!

That's right, we just had three glorious nights of uninterrupted sleep. And three glorious mornings of waking up whenever WE wanted to...as oppose to when three crazy kids decide it's time to get up by jumping on our bed or whining about something silly, like being fed breakfast!
I think for me, sleeping was probably one of the biggest highlights of the trip :)
(how sad is that?)

Here we are, super well rested and super happy (well except for the fact that Chris hates having his picture taken and I forced him to have a little photo shoot in the middle of our hotel. Thanks for playing along honey :)

So, how was the trip?... well...to be honest, Vegas just isn't my kind a town.
Sure, it was beautiful at night, and there were so many amazing things to see, but it was so BUSY and so LOUD and so CRAZY!
It truly is like they say- "the city that never sleeps".... and remember, this mama NEEDS her sleep!

We did have fun.
We spend a lot of time walking around and saw some pretty amazing things (and we all have the sore leg muscles to prove it!)
We ate at the most amazing buffets, with the whole fam. (would you believe me if I told you I didn't miss cooking or cleaning the dishes at all this weekend?! Crazy talk, I know!)
And I got to go shopping (again without three crazy kids!)

'O'!
And I almost forgot!
We saw 'O'!

It was unbelievable.
Seriously, it made me want to go back in time and train to become a gymnast or a synchronized swimmer or a diver or hey, I'd even settle for a clown :)
Chris and I both came away from that show amazed at the talent that those performers have.
Wowza!

All in all our weekend getaway was nice.
Nice to get away.
Nice to spend time with my family.
Nice to celebrate my Dad's birthday in such a big way.
Nice to sleep in.
And very nice to go outside and wear a t-shirt and jeans in the middle of February.

Although, I'm not sure that I would go back there.
No.
I'm thinking our next destination needs to be somewhere on a quiet beach....
:)

p.s I was so sad to realize that I didn't end up getting a family shot of all of us, as well as any pictures of my brother or Adam! Boo! I'll add some later after I have my sister send me some... she's busy right now packing for their trip to the Olympics- lucky girl!

  1. I've never been to Vegas, but I think it would be a "see it once" kind of town for me - I, too, like peace, quiet and most definitely sleep!

Thanks for sharing your photos :)

  2. First.... I am soooooo jealous that you saw "O"!!! As a synchronized swimmer that has been on my list of things to see/do! I've even known swimmers to swim in that show. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I love the music for all the Cirque shows, but particularly that one :)

And, I'm so happy that you got a chance to sleep! How much we children-less individuals take that for granted. Thanks for reminding me I need to savor it now ;-)

  3. I'm glad you got some rest!!! Vegas seems to be the place to be lately - I've known probably half a dozen people who have gone there in the past couple of weeks. Crazy!
