Summer {home}school- Week 1

Last week was our first official week of our summer {home}school.
And can I tell you a secret.......I'm LOVING it!
shhhh.....
Really!
I love that it is keeping me focused. That we have things to look forward to. And that I get to spend wonderful time with all THREE of my kiddos! (man I miss my boy during the school year!)

The highlight of our week {of course} was our royal picnic in the park.
You guys really need to do this. It was crazy fun and the kids are still talking about it :)
The day before we went to the dollar store to gather supplies and then spent some time making crowns and wands for everyone.

The next day we packed a yummy lunch and headed out to enjoy our picnic.
After lunch it was time for bubbles!
Yippeeeeeee!!!
(definitely a crowd pleaser!)

Our prince decided to change into a dragon costume and had fun chasing the princesses around the park.
He was very fast
and very ferocious.....
But don't worry, we got him with some good tickles in the end!
;)

My friend took a few shots (including the one above- which I love!) and when she asked the dragon to give her his meanest face....
sadly, this is all he could muster:
Pretty scary eh? (wink)
I guess he was tried from all that chasing and bubble blowing!

The best part of the whole thing was definitely getting to share it with our fun friends!
Thanks again for coming along L family!
This week we are looking forward to our cowboy theme!
YAHOOOOO!
Can't wait to start our studies... and go on our field trip!

  5. We absolutely loved tagging along for your day - you definitely inspire me to attempt some "homeschooling" next summer. And your pictures capture all the fun perfectly :) We had SO much fun, in fact, that she is still asking to wear her crown. I sent you a pic from the dinner table that night. Any guesses what she was wearing???

  9. Sara,
I HAVE MISSED YOU!!! And man oh man do you inspire me. I LooOove your homeschool posts. I'm gonna try every idea- yes I'm admitting to copying you ;) I think you take the award as mom of the year. I love your energy and your passion for motherhood. It's like a shot in the arm for me. I am sitting under piles of laundry and a "to do" list that would make a grown man cry :) But seeing your photos and posts just makes me smile and remember that it's really not all that important. It will wait and I think I'm gonna just enjoy my last 2 days home with them. School starts Wed, boo! Can't wait to catch up on more of your posts!
