"No WAY!"

Our big girl is turning two next month. I have a love/hate relationship with this age.....mostly love :)

I love it because she is so expressive and amusing. I love to just watch her take in the world. Everyday is a new adventure. A new opportunity to learn. Many times throughout the day she will do something that just makes me giggle. She is so loving and carefree. She is always wanting to climb on my lap and cuddle, or jump on my back for a piggy back ride. She is such a joy!

At the same time though, this is the age that the temper tantrums emerge. Yup, the days of my child sprawled across the floor kicking and screaming when she doesn't get her way are upon me. The days of frustrated screaming (on her end) when she can't fully explain what it is that she wants, are here.

You see, she is still learning to talk. She gets very frustrated when she's trying to say something and I have no idea what she is saying. She has become very familiar with the time-out step. I do have to confess though after her discipline and she looks up at me with those big brown eyes and says "sawry" he version of 'sorry' I have to hide my smile. She is just so darn cute.

Speaking of vocabulary, our big girl's has been steadily growing. She is saying more and more everyday. Now, in general this is so very exciting and wonderful to watch her just start to absorb what she hears around her but her two new phrases have taken me a little off guard.
The first one is this:

Me: "Honey do you want breakfast now?"
Big Girl" "No WAY"
Me: "Sweetie, lets go pick up your brother from school"
Big Girl " No WAY"

Everything is "No WAY!"
Now we found this cute the first couple times, but the cuteness factor has quickly worn off and we are now in the process of teaching our little one some manners!

The second one is that she has taken to innocently saying "What?"
Whenever her name is called it's "WHAT?"
Whenever she's doing something she shouldn't, she innocently looks at me and says "What?"

I guess she comes by this one honestly. It just makes me conscious of the words that come out of our mouths. We have a little sponge soaking in all our mannerisms and who is beginning to quote us.
:)
I am thankful that she has also picked up on "Pease"(please) and "dou do"(thank you) and my favorite " wuv oou" (I love you).
I'm also very taken with her when she yells out "Bub-bye Da-ddy" in the morning when Chris heads out to work.
I love hearing her sweet voice communicate with us as we learn to better understand one another.
Man I love this girl!
