Every night just before we eat, we sit around as a family and pull out our little Prayer Pail. And every night my heart just melts at the sweetness of their words.
Tonight, our 2 yr old picked out the stick marked with "Thanks God."
We asked her what she wanted to thank God for and she answered with confidence: "Gama 'n Papa".
So she bowed her head, closed her eyes and began:
" Dear Jesus......a bunch of words we couldn't understand.......Gama n' Papa.........more muffled words........amen"
Then, clear as day our little 15 month old blurts out a loud "AMEN!"
I'm not kidding. Clear as a bell.
Chris and I look up at each other and start laughing. We look at our little one and she is all smiles, proud as punch!

awww that is so sweet - if you are like me I bet you had trouble with that knot in your throat!!
ReplyDeleteI love to hear my kids pray and especially when they seem to "get it". Although most days it is a struggle to get all three to come together and sit quietly long enough for prayer. That's why I love this idea and am going to figure out a way we can use it! Thanks for posting it!
that is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd I still love your prayer pail idea - such a great way to have even the littlest family members included!
too cute!
ReplyDeletewe love our prayer sticks (stole the idea from you). love hearing the kids
ReplyDeletepray so intentionally for others.
