Off to the Mountains

This weekend Chris and I escaped to Banff to celebrate his birthday.
We left the kiddos with our families and happily took off to the mountains!

We may {or may not} have gone a little crazy at the thought of spending a weekend away with no kids.....

It was wonderful to slow down.
Reconnect.
Enjoy the silence.
Take in our gorgeous surroundings.

We enjoyed beautiful walks together and
even dipped our toes in the {freezing cold} water....
well technically I did, Chris may have been a little too scared ;)

We went swimming at the hot springs.
Explored an old railway hotel {and didn't even get caught, honey!}
Went out to a fancy dinner.
Slept in.
Lounged in bed in the morning and watched t.v. {oh, the luxury}
Held hands...
and loved every single minute of it.
