summer {home}school- Week 2

Hi friends!
Yup, I'm still here! Have ya missed me? ;o)

Wow, I sure seem to have lost my blogging mojo.
Instead, I have found myself outside basking in the sunshine (that is, when it's not RAINING!) bbqing with friends, playing with the kids and just truly enjoying the summer.
I promise to attempt to find my writing groove again.... but don't hold you're breath... I have been really enjoying this break from my computer!

Last week was all about the yeehaws and yahoos.
Once a year the whole city turns crazy cowboy as we celebrate the Stampede.

We started our week off with a yummy stampede breakfast. Every day over stampede there are free pancake breakfasts all over the city to enjoy. At some of these breakfasts there are pony rides and face painting and balloons and jumping castles. The kids have had a crazy busy week taking them in.
We also had fun during some of our "school time" making silly cowboy crafts.

At the end of the week we ventured down to the stampede grounds and had a great day with my dad. The kids loved the fact that instead of driving we decided to take the train downtown.

Fun, fun, fun!
;)
This week we have decided to do our B-U-G week! We're already having a ton of fun learning about different creepy crawlies. {shudder}
It actually works out great because we have discovered an ant family who apparently have decided that the food is our kitchen is much yummier than anything they could find outside.
Kinda fitting don't ya think?

Hope you are all enjoying your summer too!

  1. I was wondering where you were, but figured you were enjoying our (somewhat scarce) good weather :)

Glad you had such a fun Stampede. We decided to avoid the Grounds this year - Miss A has decided she likes to "hide" on us in public. I see your A was wearing a "backpack". These girls certainly keep us on their toes, don't they.

Hope your week "crawls" along nicely! Let's play sometime soon :)

  3. you have a sense of humor..look how you made a joke about the ants.

i want to live where you live. what a fun thing, a stampeded week.
however, have i mentioned i grew up in the "cowboy capitol of the world." it was cowboy day everyday, minus the free pancakes.

    now go stampeded those ants!
