Ten on Tuesday

1. Yesterday my dear friend Miranda came over and taught me how to make homemade salsa. It is delicious and surprisingly way easier than I thought. I have definitely caught the canning bug. I loved making it! And yes, I did a great job as a paparazzi and there will be a post all about our adventure coming soon.

2. We have been enjoying wonderful lazy fall days. Collecting leaves. Seeing the beauty around us. Making pumpkin muffins and cookies. I can't tell you happy fall makes me. I love the colors, smells and tastes of fall. It is by far my favorite season.

3. I am feeling awesome. Like really, really awesome. The second trimester makes me happy. I'm well rested, have crazy energy and can't really complain.... well, expect for the annoying acne that loves my face. What's up with that? I feel like I'm 15 all over again :)

4. Tomorrow we get to take a peak at this little one cooking inside. I am still undecided as to whether or not we will find out the gender. I have a feeling I'll cave and find out since Chris reeeeeeeeally wants to know. Eeeeeeee........

5. Oh, in other fun news I had to have a root canal done. Good times. I don't wish that upon anyone.

6. This song was playing while I was suffering through my root canal. It got me through the experience and has been in my head for the last week :)

7. I am excited about my photography adventure. I absolutely love taking pictures. Last weekend I took some fun shots for a couple of great families and have another session lined up for this weekend. Yippeee!

8. My 2 yr old is officially ready for potty training. We have her chart all ready to go on the fridge and plan to (hopefully) start next week, when we can hibernate at home and give it our best shot. I do not, I repeat, DO NOT want a repeat of big sister's experience, so I'm going in cautiously optimistic. There is hope. But I'm not going to push it.

9. My big boy is turning 7 next week and has requested a lego party. Anyone have fun lego themed ideas that I can steal?

10. It looks like it's about to storm outside. Love it. I'm off to enjoy some hot apple cider and relax by the window. I know I'm weird. But I love watching storms. Especially fall ones :)

  1. Awesome - because i've always wanted to can salsa and have been told it's easy, but would love some paparazzi pictures to follow :)

And for lego - I went to a party blog I like to persue and it gave me an idea for a cake. I'm thinking take the sheet cake featured but instead of wood dowls, put in votive candles...they'd be the perfect size and shape. 2. That salsa looks delicious. Can't wait for the recipe! By the way, I know I'm way late to the party, but congrats on the little one baking inside -- that is really exciting. Fall is our favorite season too. We made pumpkin muffins today and apple pot roast last night. Yum.

  3. I've seen Lego cakes (a loaf cake with two or more circles on top) and have bought my boys Lego fruit snacks before. I think I got them at Walgreens. Sounds like a fun party!

  5. Fall sure is cozy - I totally agree! And about acne? I never noticed any today at all! Rather, I think you are just glowing, honestly! The salsa looks yummy! Maybe next fall we could do some canning together! Have a great day tomorrow. I'm curious to see if you find out the gender or not!

  6. You can get lego shaped candy. Maybe check with the new lego store in Chinook Centre to see if they have any ideas.

I had a great time too :) I hope you enjoy your creation and many more to come my dear friend.

  8. Your home-canned salsa looks delicious. I like canning too. Er, I like the results anyway.

Fall rain and hot apple cider sound wonderful. Just mix in a little jazz and it's my perfect day!

  9. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a GIRL!!! Oh Sara, congratulations!! That is amazing- I bet you're so excited to meet this precious little daughter. BTW she's totally beautiful already :) God is so incredible how he knits us together perfectly. I'm just so happy for you.
The fall details of your home/activities make me giddy. You are truly a Proverbs 31 woman in every sense of the word. It really motivates me and helps me feed off YOUR energy, ha! Cuz 108 degrees seems to zap it from me lately- I'm gettin crabby about this weather and lack of fall :)
as for the big 7 birthday...what about taking a handful of legos and wrapping them in cellophane for party favors? Also, what if you made big batches of rice crispy bars and stacked them/shaped them to look like legos...not sure if you get my vision but I think it could turn out super cute (and yummO too!) There's SO much cute lego stuff out there, that's a great theme.
Sara, I just want to say thank you for leaving that really kind comment for me too. Because I know your character and your values, it means the world to me that I would actually "inspire" you. Thank you for being so gracious.
Enjoy that precious baby GIRL and I'll be checking in on you soon :)! WISH it was next door that I could do that...but I'll settle for bloggy land, ha!
