Ten on Tuesday

1. After reading this post: A Full Day of Foreplay :: Shaun Groves, I simply had to share it with you :) Be sure to read the comments sections too, because ladies.... remember, it's a two way street! {wink}

2. I have been very diligent about not buying Halloween Candy. I know myself, if it's in the house it'll be long gone before the 31st! But, I did crack this weekend and bought a yummy container of candy corn. Now I need to decide what sweet treat we will make with it. Here are a few fun ideas I've seen...

Candy Corn Parfaits :: BakedBree
Candy Corn Cookie Bark :: Your Homebased Mom
Candy Corn Cupcakes :: The Curvy Carrot
I can't decide, I may just have to make them all....

3. This book is currently in the mail on it's way to my doorstep. I am so excited to dive into it. I have heard nothing but good things about it.
4.I'm no longer a Skype Virgin! Chris was away in California this past week and while he was there we kept in touch with Skype. Super easy and very cool for the kids to be able to see Daddy and talk to him face to face :)

5. I have been having quite a few contractions. Ugh. I really think everything is fine but because of the way things progressed with my last pregnancy (early contraction = bedrest for 9+ weeks) I am being more cautious and trying to limit myself. Sadly this meant that I decided to stay home this past weekend instead of attending my sister's out of town stagette. Boooo :(

6. So, I spent the entire weekend by myself. It was weird. It was quiet. It was actually really nice. Our son spent the weekend being spoiled by my dad and the girls were over at Chris' parents being spoiled (isn't our family amazing?! they all still insisted on taking the kids even though I ended up staying at home from the stagette, just to give me a break!)
I don't think I've EVER been in the house that long by myself. And I may or may not have been a little scared to go to sleep by myself at night.
I was definitely ready for my loud household to return, but I do feel very refreshed and ready for another week with my munchkins.

7. I'm currently obsessed with this song. I just played it again and danced around the room with my two year old :)

8. Speaking of my cuddly little two year old, I'm happy to report that we have officially begun potty training. And she is doing amazing! Eeeeeeee! Could it be that all three of my children will be potty trained before the baby comes? Wow. What ever will we do with all the $$ we've been spending on diapers?

9. It snowed here again yesterday. I didn't complain too much since it gave me extra motivation to hibernate this week and jump into potty training! Thankfully it melted right away. It is too early to be thinking of winter!

10. Last up- I have grand plans to blow the dust off my sewing machine and start a few fun projects. Among them, a quilt for our living room and of course some sweet baby girl things.... I am excited... but don't hold your breath. It may take awhile for me to get my butt into a fabric store :)

  1. I love reading your blogs Sara. #8: you will soon have another little bottom in diapers so you have another 2 or so years of spending that money ;)
    #10: I have great instructions for a rag time quilt if you want something that is beautiful and easy to do (no binding - woo hoo!)

  2. thanks for the link.... interesting post. loved it!

    i am not a huge fan of candy corn but those snacks look awesome... i may have to try the candy corn bark. i have a bag to use up.

    you will love a million miles in a thousand years... life changing.

    i would LOVE to skype with you!!!

    i am a bit envious of your weekend at home alone... what a sweet family to give you a break. i am sure you felt so refreshed.

    snow... it has been cold and rainy here. there is some rain in the mountains but we most likely won't get snow in the valley until around christmas. a good enough reason to hunker down and be a little lazy.

  3. I just finished link jumping and must say, I'm loving your 10 Things on Tuesday, Sara!

    We learned in premarital counselling that "women are like ovens and men are like microwaves...women take all day to 'warm up' while men are instantaneous." I always chuckle when I remember that :) Thanks for sharing the link - a great read.

    I'm with Kristen, not a huge fan of candy corn, but have always wanted to knit the kids a hat with thick white, orange and yellow stripes. It just looks like such "happy" candy.

    #6 - I pretty much turned a bright shade of green reading that one. SO glad you were able to have a good rest.

    I also obsessively love "I'm Yours" - so does Miss A. She requests it often. That and "Better Together" by Jack Johnson (another great tune to check out and dance around the room!)

    I'm sending lots of easy potty training vibes your way. Hope 'S' doesn't take after her sister...or Miss A for that matter. Nope, I think you deserve an easy go 'round this time!

    As for #10 - we are currently all still very much under the weather (read: I basically want to crawl under a rock), so I'm thinking playing is not such a good idea. We leave next week for a trip so, one of two things: I can drop the pattern off on your doorstep or if you're in this neck of the woods I can hang it on my doorknob for a no-germ-transferring pass off. Let me know :)

  5. i don't care for candy corn, but my kids would think i was AWESOME if i made candy corn crack! ("crack" is what i call peppermint cracker candy)

    i'm listening to your favorite song right now.. "love, love, love, love..i won't hesitate no more.."

    d.m.'s book was SO GOOD! please tell me you have read "blue like jazz." a must before you read this.

    why weren't you in cali instead of your husband?

    why didn't i come stay with you while your house was empty. i'm dying to see you.

    i guess it was best that you gave up your skype virginity with your husband, no it won't be so awkward when we "mess around."

    speaking of messing around, i'll go read the foreplay post now. that wasn't an awkward transition at all.
