Summer Fun List 2011

We are down to just 3 more days of school.
Summer is almost here!

I seriously CAN NOT WAIT.

Last year I decided to be more intentional about our summer. I made up a simple little curriculum and the kids and I had fun in our own little summer homeschool. In doing this I discovered that we accomplished so much more than we would have if we hadn't done it. By planning ahead we certainly cut down on the "mom I'm bored" complains :)
This year I decided to change things up a bit and make a big ol' list of all the exciting things we want to do this summer.

So today, Evan and I sat down and listed off a few fun ideas.

Then we hung it up in the kitchen where it will be a constant reminder of the awesome summer we will have :)

Here's a bit of a close up:

I seriously can't wait for summer to start, so that we can jump into all this fun.

What are some of the things you have planned for your kiddos this summer?

  1. Love the list! Fun, fun stuff. My favorite: bring popsicles to a neighbor. Wish we were your neighbor!

I don't have an official list (surprisingly enough), but here's a handful things we're doing in the next week or so - swimming lessons, rock exhibit, nacho nite, and grandpa's birthday BBQ. I love summer.

  2. I am SOOOOOOO doing this!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! I'm also going to put together a little school day each week! Love all your ideas! Love YOU!!

  3. PERFECT list!! Just this morning I was telling boy1 we should make a similar summer plan. Great format to work with too!

  4. Sounds like a perfect summer to me!! :) I love that so many people are sharing their lists! I'm getting lots of ideas! :)

  5. I'm doing my own and I added one to send 5 postcards to people you know. .20 cents for a postcard 29 cents for a stamp. Everyone loves to get things in the mail.

  6. thank you i probaly have something to do tommorrow
